How much does a yacht charter on the French Riviera cost per week?
Weekly charter rates on the French Riviera range from approximately €15,000 for smaller motor yachts to over €300,000 for superyachts during peak season. The base charter fee covers the vessel and crew; additional costs including fuel, provisioning, port fees, and crew gratuity are managed separately through an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA). Opera Prestige advisors provide a full cost breakdown tailored to your itinerary.
What is an APA and how does it work?
The Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is a prepaid fund — typically 25 to 35% of the base charter fee — used to cover running expenses during the charter: fuel, food and beverages, port dues, and crew gratuity. Any unspent balance is refunded at the end of the charter; any overspend is settled on departure. Our team provides a detailed APA estimate before you board.
Can I charter a yacht for just one day from Cannes?
Yes. Opera Prestige offers day charter programmes departing from Cannes, Antibes, Nice and Monaco. Day charters are available on a range of vessels, from sleek motor yachts to classic sailing boats, and can be tailored to include swimming stops, Michelin-catered lunches, and sunset cruises along the coastline.
What destinations can I reach by yacht from Cannes or Nice?
From Cannes or Nice, you can reach Monaco in under an hour, Saint-Tropez in two to three hours, and the Lérins Islands in minutes. Further afield, Portofino, Corsica, Sardinia and the Aeolian Islands are within reach on a week-long charter. Our team designs itineraries around your pace, interests and preferred anchorages.
Is fuel included in the charter price?
Fuel is not included in the base charter fee. It is covered by the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) alongside other running costs. Exact fuel consumption depends on the vessel, cruising speed, and the distances covered. We provide a transparent estimate at the planning stage so there are no surprises.
Do I need sailing experience to charter a crewed yacht?
No experience is required. All yachts in our collection are offered with a professional crew — captain, deck crew, chef and steward(ess) — who handle all navigation, safety, and on-board service. Your role is simply to enjoy the experience. Our team will match you with the right vessel and crew profile for your group.
